My new self-published book "The White Room" has arrived fresh from the printers, and will be available to purchase very soon from this website and my blog La Gueule du Monde.
Limited-edition of 100 signed and numbered copies.
A couple of things to mention, the first being a workshop exploring the rise of "selfies" in social media that I did back in July, entitled #me?. It took place during the Ministry of Love exhibition at Yinka Shonibare's Guest Projects space in Hackney. See the results of the experiment on the dedicated Tumblr page here.
I am also preparing to launch a new self-published limited edition book, as part of a series of books that I will be producing in the next few months. Book 1 will be The White Room, which I expect to launch in December. So watch this space for more details.
I will be showing my series Between 11 and Noon, along with a new video work, in a solo show at The Running Horse space next month, opening on the evening of February 20th. Save the date!
This year has really flown by...
I'm very excited to have 2
new photo series showing this Fall in art fairs with The Running Horse gallery. The White Room series is currently on show at Art:Gwangju in South Korea (5-9 Sept); and Between 11 and Noon, a series of 7 portraits with audio text, showing at Art Taipei 2012 this November.
Look out for the Running Horse booths if you happen to be in either city during the fairs!
From The White Room, 2012. Now showing at Art:Gwangju, South Korea.
It's been a busy year, and there's much more lined up for 2012.
As well as being an art critic's pick on ArtForum, In Your Home was also selected as one of the Top Ten exhibitions in Beirut by critic Kaelen Wilson-Goldie. A small selection from the series will be shown again in London at Maddox Arts gallery in a group show opening February 9th.
I also have 3 other shows coming up in the next few months:
I will be exhibiting a series I collaborated on with artist Leslie Deere in an upcoming exchange show with Beijing at Shoreditch Town Hall at the end of February.
Also, my work was selected alongside other contemporary photographers from Australia and the UK (including Adam Broomberg & Olivier Chanarin and Seba Kurtis) as part of the Hijacked III touring exhibition and book published by Big City Press, from March onwards.
And finally, I am working on an exhibition of large-scale prints with The Running Horse gallery in the public space of ABC mall in Beirut, scheduled for April.
Look out for details on these shows here and on my blog La Gueule du Monde.
It's going to be an exciting year...
After touring to Beirut and Istanbul, In Your Home will be showing in London at ArtFirst Projects gallery this coming October 13th, during Frieze week, in a duo show along with artist Liane Lang. Come along if you're in the neighborhood!

I will be showing some work at the Victor Wynd Fine Art gallery next week in a group show curated by Emeric Glayse of nofound. As usual, I will be in a different country for the opening (damn), but go along to the opening this wednesday and have a drink on me!
The Running Horse gallery's end of year Xmas party exhibition "In The Trenches" opens tomorrow night with work from the gallery's artists: Alfred Tarazi, Hiba Kalache and myself. Head down for some merry drinks and have one on me!
I am very happy to have "XI and la Gueule du Monde" featured in Eye magazine this Autumn, as part of an article about self-publishing (by Wayne Ford).
Click on the "XI and la Gueule du Monde" page on this website to purchase a copy. Or through my photoblog.
You are cordially invited to the opening of my first solo show
on Thursday 29th July at Zico House, Beirut, from 7pm.
Drinks, nibbles, and much much photography!
The Running Horse gallery has just confirmed that I am to have a solo show there for June/July 2011, very exciting news!
We are in talks of probably showing the full extent of my project In Your Home, on which I have been working on the last 2 years, marking the end of my secretive squanderings...
Hopefully, the exhibition will be accompanied with the launch of an In Your Home book. So if you are a publisher out there somewhere interested in publishing the book, do get in touch!
In the meantime, my first solo show at Zico House gallery, in Beirut, is scheduled for the end of July, so watch this space for more details.
You are cordially invited to the opening of Counting Thoughts, a collective show at the Running Horse Gallery, Beirut, where I'll be exhibiting 2 new photographic works: "Insomnia is a 4-Letter Word" and "Laurie".
"An interdisciplinary group show inviting female artists of different nationalities to present works that reflect their thoughts on their own womanhood in a free context"
The private view is next Thursday 21st April, from 6pm. Come and crush a cup of wine!
Come to The Dig's Love Equinox exhibition/event night at Passing Clouds in Dalston, this coming Thursday 18th March, where I will be exhibiting a new photographic piece.
As well as performances from live bands and musicians, The Dig’s Love Equinox will bring together a host of innovative artists, writers, contemporary dancers, film makers and more to explore every fascinating element of love; from the beautiful, sensual, and erotic through to the dark, dastardly and bizarre.
Expect to see an erotic life drawing class from ‘Burlesque Space’, provocative silent film screenings (a medley of cult, boundary breaking classics, 30’s vintage erotica and risqué artistic shorts) and obscure and deviant imagery as we explore romance, affection, obsession, infatuation, fanaticism, heartbreak and rejection.
"The Eye" seems to have become my pièce de resistance these days! It is showing at
The Running Horse contemporary art gallery in Beirut, Lebanon, from February 8th. The collective show Soft Sculpture is also featuring works by Ziad Antar, Hiba Kalache and Ziad Saad (my longtime lover and muse).
I am currently represented by The Running Horse gallery, and am to be featured in another collective exhibition Women by women in April. This time, I will be showing new photographic work (and possibly some sculpture, but that's between you and me...)
Very excited to be part of the Running Horse roster, since the gallery is focusing on new and emerging artists from the Middle East, which is a nice change from the habitual names linked to the Lebanese art scene.
Come on down to the opening on the 8th if you're around!
My video piece "The Eye" was selected to be screened at the Annual PixelPops! video event at the BolteLang contemporary art gallery in Zurich, this year entitled The Corridor.
The show opens on December 2nd and runs til January, so pop on down to see the selected videos if you happen to stroll by Zurich...
I just got back from a trip to Reykjavik, shooting the Iceland Airwaves 09 music festival for DazedDigital.com. Needless to say it was manic, impressive, magical, freezing, sleep-depriving, the wildest most intimate festival I've ever been to...
While out there, I shot the Icelandic band For a Minor Reflection, which are definitely worth checking out! They're playing at the Lexington in London on Nov 2nd.
I'll be posting the pictures on my photoblog soon!
Just a little note about Monika magazine, which featured some of my photography for their first issue, namely images I shot of Blackfriars Bridge for them, which you can see here on my blog.
Monika is a gem of a little publication which I highly recommend. They will be holding a stand at the upcoming "Published and Be Damned" event for self-publishing on September 27th at Oxford House, Derbyshire Street E2 6HG.

My project Poses was awarded the Carl Garnham Prize for Photographic Media, which was quite an honour.
The Graduate Show 2009 was very successful, with over 30,000 visitors in its 10-day run. I am officially an MA RCA graduate, and, well, pat on the back to me and the class of 2009. Thanks to everyone who came down!
I cordially invite you to the Royal College of Art graduating Show which opens to the public on Friday June 26th, until the 5th of July.
I will be exhibiting the series Poses, as weil as launching and selling my art publication XI and la Gueule du Monde in the RCA Communications shop.
